Epix® Indoor SMD Series
Indoor SMD LED Displays
Modular indoor LED screens for commercial displays, corporate spaces, retail, education and control-room applications.
The Epix® Indoor SMD Series uses 320 × 160 mm LED modules and can be installed on a custom steel structure, magnetic mounting system or standard 640 × 480 mm aluminium cabinet.
Pixel pitch & resolution
Compare P1.25, P1.5, P1.8 and P2.5
Every option uses the same 320 × 160 mm module format. The pixel matrix changes with the selected pitch, which changes the resolution of the finished LED screen.
| Specification | P1.25 | P1.5 | P1.8 | P2.5 |

| 640 × 480 mm cabinet resolution* | 512 × 384 px | 416 × 312 px | 344 × 258 px | 256 × 192 px |
| Best considered when | Very fine detail is required | Fine-pitch indoor viewing | Balanced detail and screen size | General indoor commercial displays |
*Cabinet resolutions are calculated from the confirmed module pixel matrices using two modules across and three modules high. Complete-screen resolution depends on the final number of modules or cabinets used in the installation.
SMD display technology
One modular platform for multiple indoor screen sizes.
The SMD series is designed around replaceable LED modules. Screen dimensions can therefore be configured around the required wall size instead of being limited to a single television-style format.
| Environment | Indoor |
|---|---|
| LED module size | 320 × 160 mm |
| Available pitches | P1.25 / P1.5 / P1.8 / P2.5 |
| White-balance brightness | ≥600 nits |
| Refresh rate | 3840 Hz |
| Representative viewing angle | 160° horizontal / 140° vertical |
| Standard cabinet | 640 × 480 mm die-cast aluminium |
| Cabinet service access | Rear maintenance; customised front access available |
LED package, scan method and electrical loading can vary with pixel pitch and selected module configuration and should be stated in the final project specification.
Installation & cabinet options
Choose the structure around the project.
Indoor SMD modules can be incorporated into a fabricated support structure or assembled using standard aluminium cabinets. The correct method depends on screen size, wall construction, available depth and maintenance access.
GI / MS steel support structure
Build the LED display around a fabricated GI or MS steel structure where a custom screen size, wall opening or project-specific depth is required.
Magnetic module installation
Magnetic fixing can be used with a suitable steel-backed structure to simplify module positioning and access during installation and maintenance.
640 × 480 mm aluminium cabinet
Use a standard die-cast aluminium cabinet where a modular cabinet system is preferred. Each cabinet uses six 320 × 160 mm LED modules in a 2 × 3 arrangement.
Custom MS structure & integration
Custom structures can be designed for recessed screens, wall-mounted installations and projects where cabinet depth or access must follow the architectural layout.
Standard aluminium cabinet
640 × 480 mm modular cabinet
The standard aluminium configuration arranges six 320 × 160 mm modules in a 2 × 3 layout. The same cabinet dimensions can therefore produce different pixel resolutions depending on the selected pitch.
| Pixel pitch | Cabinet resolution |
|---|---|
| P1.25 | 512 × 384 pixels |
| P1.5 | 416 × 312 pixels |
| P1.8 | 344 × 258 pixels |
| P2.5 | 256 × 192 pixels |
Complete screen resolution
The complete LED screen resolution is calculated from the final number of cabinets or modules across the screen width and height. It should be specified for each project rather than described only as “HD”, “2K” or “4K”.

Frequently asked questions
Indoor SMD LED display questions
Which pixel pitches are available?
The Epix® Indoor SMD Series is available in P1.25, P1.5, P1.8 and P2.5 configurations.
What is the LED module size?
All four configurations use a 320 × 160 mm module format. Pixel resolution changes according to the selected pixel pitch.
Do I have to use a 640 × 480 mm aluminium cabinet?
No. Indoor SMD LED modules can also be integrated with GI/MS steel structures, custom fabricated MS structures and suitable magnetic mounting systems.
What is the resolution of the complete LED screen?
Complete-screen resolution depends on the selected pixel pitch and the final number of modules or cabinets across the display. Epix® calculates the finished pixel matrix for each project.
Can the screen be designed to fit a custom wall size?
Yes. Module-based construction allows the display size and supporting structure to be planned around the available wall area, subject to the selected module and cabinet increments.
